Topps......what in the world is going on?

So........a while ago I had an issue with Topps and their justification of "equal" replacement: http://annoyanceatitsfinest.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-big-kahuna-vs-topps-via-better_30.html

It was done and over with and I accepted the Devon Still as my replacement and moved on because it just kept getting worse with the selection choices they gave me and the case was closed.

SO in the mail this past week I received this from Topps:

3 years and 2 months later Topps has sent this "gift" to me. I was already under the impression that this was a done deal and that Devon was to be accepted as the end result of our negotiations. Now I feel really weird about this whole thing and it has left me with 5 thoughts:

1. Topps is really really really slow in shipping out their replacement products.
2. Topps must've found all the notes from the Better Business Bureau complaints I've filed against them over the years for their bait and switch tactics they've tried with me  and want to kiss and make up for it.
3. Topps is trying to win back their customers for their mistakes they've made?
4. Topps computer systems are so screwed up they cannot keep an accurate track of who had stuff sent out and who didn't.
5. Topps is clearing out their warehouse of all football related items.

I reached out on twitter to https://twitter.com/yanxchick as I thought maybe she might have a thought or opinion on the situation but I have not heard anything back yet from her. I feel like sending these cards back to Topps because we had agreed already on the replacement which they already fulfilled.

What would you do? Would you keep them? Would you send them back? Would you throw them into the volcano pit? Would you throw them into a blender?

CHICKEN SCRATCH: RODNEY HOOD Edition

Today, your eyes will gaze upon the autograph of Rodney Hood who is a shooting guard for the Utah Jazz in the NBA.

Every year I buy a few packs of basketball cards just for giggles and when you pull an autograph from that pack it does make you feel like you just won the lotto.......in a small kind of fun way. I pulled this card from a feeder box at target and was literally surprised because the pack didn't seem very thick or heavy. This is a Rodney Hood 2014-15 Panini Excalibur Basketball Rookie Rampage patch auto card serially numbered 21/25.

The first thing that I noticed in Rodney's signature is that he signed his first name with a "Lasso"effect. It's in my opinion that you can make out an "R" if you already knew his name was Rodney. However, when I showed the card to a few friends and asked them for their thoughts on the autograph, their first thought was that it's an "A" more than an "R" that he signed.

With his last name (Hood), it looks like it's spelled, "Nid" or "Mid". If you look really hard at the card you will see these letters: A N D. So I guess his signature name is "and" perhaps?

Either way Rodney's signature is better than most of the NBA player signatures in the last 5 years and while it may be barely legible the tribe has decided to give him 2 sharpies for his efforts.

THE TRIBE HAS SPOKEN!

So what good cards have you pulled lately? Here's what my cold hands have been pulling......

I swear the Cleveland Browns football organization has a QB curse......

Word of advice.......don't go into management! Nuff said.

Finally......finally I can get back to blogging on here again. I was on a 6 week hiatus from work (on a well deserved mental break) and when I returned to work I had successfully transferred to the night shift life style again. Less fuss and less stress. What exactly does this mean for me? Well then, allow me take a glance: my blood pressure is going down, my weight is going back down, the body count I was producing is going down, my hair is still thinning, and unfortunately my wallet keeps going down...lol. I missed doing the little things on here and now I can start to put some focus back into it again and win over the hearts of the mindless trolls that love to spam me and the hearts of card collectors in Peru (if there is any.....which would be cool....seriously....way cool). The Big Kahuna has come down from the mountain tops and will share his thoughts on the disappointing NFL season (oh no he didn't just say that cuz it's only week one!). Also TBK is not happy about Panini holding the exclusive title for football cards for the NFL and will be asking our next president to grant Upper Deck a license and then send a redemption card to Topps for a license to produce NFL cards (but never fulfill the redemption).
